    Author: Kosoĭ GKh, Kosaia NM.
Journal: Arkh Patol; 1982; 44(1):70-2. PubMed ID: 7065928.
    Abstract:
A male patient of 47 underwent embolization of the renal artery in connection with planned nephroectomy for tumor of the left kidney. The embolizing material consisted of autohemocoagulations mixed with hemostatic sponge. Embolization was accompanied by thromboembolism of tibial arteries on the right and interlobular arteries of the right kidney with the development of multiple infarctions. The death was due to acute renal insufficiency. In this connection, the causes of complication are analysed and indications to embolization of the renal artery are discussed. Another feature of the case is the presence of a rare tumor, fibrosarcoma of the kidney of a large size with metastases into the lungs.
