Journal: Klin Monbl Augenheilkd; 1982 Jan; 180(1):45-8. PubMed ID: 7077996.
    Abstract:
Ultrasonography, and especially the combined use of A- and B-scan echography, is one of the most important methods of clinical investigation in ophthalmology, It was employed on 1000 patients with opaque media. In 158 cases the examination confirmed the diagnosis of pathologic changes, while in the rest the echograms were normal. The most frequent finding was retinal detachment. Echography is also the most important examination for selection and preoperative examination of candidates for vitrectomy.
