  • Title: [Clinico-x-ray-electrophysiologic evaluation of the sequelae of vertebrospinal injuries].
Author: Kamalov II, Bulankov IuN, Ivanov AV.
Journal: Zh Nevropatol Psikhiatr Im S S Korsakova; 1982; 82(5):18-23. PubMed ID: 7102192.
    Abstract:
The authors present the data of clinical, x-ray and electrophysiological examinations of 184 patients who suffered vertebrospinal trauma of varying severity. Indicate pronounced disturbances of the function of the neuromuscular apparatus at varying times after the trauma in patients with neglected fractures and dislocation fractures of the vertebrae and with compression-comminuted fractures. They also describe the time course of clinical, x-ray and electrophysiological changes at varying levels of injury to the vertebrae and spinal cord. It is suggested that the clinical, x-ray and electrophysiological data obtained promote the documentation of the indications for application of individual comprehensive rehabilitation therapy with due regard for the level and severity of injuries to the spinal cord and evaluation of the role of the vascular component in the development of the neurological picture.
