    Abstract:
A benign hepatic tumor (liver cell adenoma) was discovered accidentally during Cesarean section in a 32-year old woman who had been taking oral contraceptives (OCs) for 4 months prior to her pregnancy. Benign tumors of the liver have recently become a more frequent disorder. We do not yet know enough about the effects of OCs on the different body tissues and possible carcinogenic effects. While improving the life of many women, they may prove hazardous to others. (author's)
