Abstract: Intracerebellar hemorrhage in premature infants represents a life-threatening event. Prompt diagnosis of this form of intracranial hemorrhage is crucial, as surgical intervention may dramatically improve the prognosis. Whereas clinical signs associated with posterior fossa pathology in infants remain nonspecific, ultrasound provides a rapid, noninvasive means of identifying this potentially treatable abnormality.
