Title: [Liver adenoma, causing fatal abdominal hemorrhage, after prolonged administration of oral contraceptives]. Author: Lukács J, Szemantsik T. Journal: Morphol Igazsagugyi Orv Sz; 1978 Jul; 18(3):228-11. PubMed ID: 714061. Abstract: One case of hepatic adenoma is reported. The tumour occurred after seven years of uninterrupted use of anticonceptive pills and caused fatal abdominal haemorrhage. The adenoma had a connective tissue capsule and regular lobular structure in which at some area peliosis could be observed. In the liver, in several area focal deposites of PAS-positive material occurred. The case of a 29-year old woman with hepatic adenoma is reported. The patient has used oral contraceptive agents for 7 years without interruption. The hepatic adenoma caused a fatal abdominal hemorrhage. Connective tissue was surrounding the liver; some peliosis-like bleeding and focal deposits of PAS-positive tissue were found.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
