PubMed ID: 7157894. Abstract: It is reported on an evident increase in female patients with porphyria cutanea tarda, seen in dermatological department of Halle/S. since 1975. Our female patients were much younger than patients with p.c.t. usually. 8 women, younger than 40 years in time of manifestation of disease have got contraceptive drugs for many years. Only one women under 40 didn't take contraceptive drugs, but she suffers from a thalassaemia minor. The combination of these diseases we have seen never before. P.c.t. as a follow of orale contraception should be included in calculations of the internal medicine, especially, if females suffer from preceding or coexisting hepatic failures.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
