Title: [Indirect spectrophotometric method for determining amoxicillin with a palladium (II) ion]. Author: Gallo N, Bianco P, Pizzi AO. Journal: Arch Sci Med (Torino); 1982; 139(4):407-8. PubMed ID: 7168630. Abstract: Indirect spectrophotometric method for determination of Amoxicillin is described. This method is based on the chromatic reaction between amoxicillin and PdCl2 in presence of HCl. The colour developed is due to formation of a complex between penicillamin (originated by hydrolisis of amoxillin) and Pd(II) ion. The complex isolated has molecular formula (C5H10O2ClNPdS)2 . H2O deduced by elemental analysis and I.R. spectrum. The method has good sensitivity (4 to 41.9 micrograms/ml) of drug and may be very useful for control on pure substance.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
