Title: [Cytological, cytochemical and ultrastructural characteristics of breast cancer]. Author: Murtskhvaladze GN. Journal: Arkh Patol; 1982; 44(10):39-44. PubMed ID: 7181707. Abstract: Cytohistological, cytochemical, and ultrastructural methods were used to study 115 mammary gland carcinomas. Cytological verification of different forms of mammary gland carcinoma is substantiated on the basis of comparative evaluation of cytological and histological features of the tumor. Examination of impression smears of removed mammary gland tumors allowed not only to establish the diagnosis of carcinoma in 98.2% of the cases but also to recognize its various forms. Different forms of mammary gland carcinoma have been characterized ultrastructurally. A correlation between the glycogen content in tumor cells and morphological structure of the tumor was established.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
