  • Title: [Changes in serum proteins and their fractions in lambs with experimental Oesophagostomum venulosum infection].
    Author: Badrie F, Kamenov I.
Journal: Vet Med Nauki; 1982; 19(10):52-9. PubMed ID: 7182992.
    Abstract:
Studied was the effect of an experimental infection with Oesophagostomum venulosum on the total serum protein and the protein fractions. Two test groups of lambs were used--with a weak and a strong infection, respectively. It was found that on the seventh day of infection there started a rise of the total serum protein. That was followed by a drop below the level established prior to the infection. Albumins dropped, while alfa-, beta 2-, and gamma 1-globulins rose, and that led to the decrease in the albumin:globulin coefficient. These changes were best manifested with the lambs that had a strong Oesophagostomum venulosum infection.
