  • Title: [Behavioral activation developing after cessation of electrical stimulation of the caudate nucleus].
    Author: Shishliannikova LV.
Journal: Fiziol Zh SSSR Im I M Sechenova; 1980 Aug; 66(8):1165-70. PubMed ID: 7191378.
    Abstract:
Repeated low--frequency stimulation of the caudate nucleus head often induced grooming and rhythmic movements of the head in unrestrained cats. The effect was all the more stable after intensive and frequent stimulations. Phenamine enhanced the behavioral activation whereas haloperidol suppressed it. The behavioral effect seems to be related to the dophamine production and depends on the nigro--striatal dophamine transport.
