Title: [WPW syndrome and mitral valve prolapse: pathogenetic relation or coexistence? Report of a case (author's transl)]. Author: Neri A, Nicolosi GL. Journal: G Ital Cardiol; 1980; 10(11):1546-50. PubMed ID: 7202903. Abstract: A case of coexistence of mitral valve prolapse and WPW syndrome is reported. Even a pathogenetic relation between the two anomalies has been suggested, a constant relation was not identified in the present case. WPW conduction was intermittent and affected the phonocardiographic features of mitral prolapse, but these were also present in absence of WPW syndrome. It is concluded that a close pathogenetic relation between WPW syndrome and mitral valve prolapse has not been identified in this case. A possible coexistence of the two anomalies is suggested.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
