  • Title: Plasma cell myeloma of the orbit.
Author: Mewis-Levin L, Garcia CA, Olson JD.
Journal: Ann Ophthalmol; 1981 Apr; 13(4):477-81. PubMed ID: 7247194.
    Abstract:
An 80-year-old woman had a left superior temporal orbital mass that displaced the globe downward and forward. Restriction of motion was present in all fields of gaze. Radiologic and ultrasound evaluation revealed an orbital mass extending posteriorly, with erosion of the superior orbital rim. Biopsy diagnosis was plasma cell myeloma, a rare orbital tumor. The patient was subsequently found to have multiple myeloma, treated with local radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Three-and-one-half years after diagnosis, she is alive and in remission.
