Title: Effect of aspirin on aqueous protein values in the dog. Author: Brightman AH, Helper LC, Hoffman WE. Journal: J Am Vet Med Assoc; 1981 Mar 15; 178(6):572-3. PubMed ID: 7263462. Abstract: Aqueous protein concentration, degree of miosis, and intraocular pressure were evaluated in dogs given aspirin, then subjected to aqueous paracentesis and reverse cyclodialysis. Compared with control dogs, the dogs given aspirin had less aqueous protein, but there was no difference in miosis or in intraocular pressure. The practical application of this finding is that aspirin given prior to intraocular surgery may be of value in minimizing the postoperative increase in aqueous protein content.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
