  • Title: [Role of trauma in the development of acute cholecystitis].
    Author: Sorokin SS, Sorokin AS.
Journal: Vestn Khir Im I I Grek; 1981 May; 126(5):21-7. PubMed ID: 7269105.
    Abstract:
It has been established that disorders in the blood circulation of the gallbladder play the dominating part in the development of posttraumatic cholecystitis. The disease is found more often to develop in elderly and senile people, mainly in men. The pathogenetically grounded treatment is considered to be the application of means improving hemodynamics and microcirculation in the gallbladder. The use of these means is indicated prophylactically in great traumas. Cholecystectomy is a necessary measure when the conservative treatment proves to be ineffective and when symptoms of generalization of the process are observed.
