Title: Role of mediodorsal thalamic nucleus in olfactory discrimination learning in rats. Author: Slotnick BM, Kaneko N. Journal: Science; 1981 Oct 02; 214(4516):91-2. PubMed ID: 7280684. Abstract: Severe deficits in the acquisition of an olfactory learning-set task resulted from lesions of the central (olfactory) component of the mediodorsal thalamic nucleus but not from large lesions that destroyed olfactory projections to the amygdala. Complex olfactory learning may be mediated by the olfactory thalamocortical system and not by olfactory projections to the limbic system.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
