  • Title: [Serum concentration of pregnancy-associated alpha 2-glycoprotein (alpha 2-PAG, protein of pregnancy zone, PZ) in patients with dermatological diseases (author's transl)].

Journal: Zentralbl Gynakol; 1981; 103(16):946-51. PubMed ID: 7347058.
    Abstract:
Radial immunodiffusion, according to Mancini, was applied to 15 hospitalised patients, both during and after hospitalisation. They were of both sexes and all afflicted with dermatological diseases (psoriasis, eczema, mycosis). Determination of serum concentration of pregnancy-associated alpha 2-glycoprotein (alpha 2-PAG, PZ) was the purpose of the tests. While in the acute phase of the disease the PZ serum levels of the three groups of patients were higher than those recorded from a control group, conventional therapy failed to have any impact upon PZ serum concentration. Continuous decline in PZ serum concentration was recordable from psoriasis patients in response to photochemotherapy (PUVA).
