  • Title: Tissue catecholamine concentrations in the brain, heart and adrenals in experimental hypovolaemia in rats.
    Author: Szymańska-Kosmala M, Filczewski M.
Journal: Acta Physiol Pol; 1980; 31(2):159-66. PubMed ID: 7395540.
    Abstract:
The experiments were carried out on Wistar rats with graded hypovolaemia ranging from 10% to 30% of blood volume loss. Determinations were done 10, 60 and 120 minutes after haemorrhage. The concentrations of catecholamines in the tissues were determined fluorimetrically. It was found that even moderate hypovolaemia evoked changes in catecholamine content of the brain, heart and adrenals.
