Title: [Thermography in detecting breast diseases in mass prophylactic examinations]. Author: Lindenbraten LD, Ginzburg LI. Journal: Med Tekh; 1980; (4):49-52. PubMed ID: 7402041. Abstract: The article presents the results of a prolonged time course thermographic observation over the mammary glands' heat flow in sound females and in those with nodal and diffuse forms of mastopathy, fibroadenoma and large common cysts. Thermography efficiency was shown in searching the foci with more active heat production, associated with proliferative activity of cellular elements that belong to different malformations within the mammary gland. Comparison of thermographic and mammographic data during mass prophylactic screening allowed to define the possibilities and limitation of thermography as a screening method for further mammographic examining and early detection of breast cancer.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
