  • Title: [Pallido-thalamic projections of cats].
    Author: Gorbachevskaia AI.
Journal: Arkh Anat Gistol Embriol; 1980 Jun; 78(6):19-25. PubMed ID: 7406697.
    Abstract:
Projections of the globus pallidus and the entopeduncular nucleus on the thalamic nuclei have been studied in cats by methods of axonal-preterminal degeneration and retrograde cellular degeneration. Together with the known projections of the pallidum on the medial center, ventral anterior and ventral lateral thalamic nuclei, direct projections of the pallidum on the medial dorsal, central lateral and lateral posterior thalamic nuclei have been revealed. In cats not only the entopeduncular nucleus is the source of the fibres projecting on the thalamic nuclei, but also the globus pallidus has direct connections with the thalamic nuclei
