Title: [Prevention of neonatal tetanus by active immunization of pregnant women in Brazzaville. Practical evalation and a comparison of single-dose and triple-dose vaccinations]. Author: Yala PF. Journal: Bull Soc Pathol Exot Filiales; 1980; 73(1):15-22. PubMed ID: 7418120. Abstract: From the third trimester of 1976, the congolese pregnant women are immunized in Brazzaville to prevent the neonatal tetanus. The first approach of the practical evaluation by serological methods shows that these women are well immunized after three months, in the childbirth, by the single dose of tetanus toxoid (30Lf) (98%) and by the three doses of tetanus toxoid (87,27%). In the blood of the umbilical funiculus the level of the titre of the antibodies is very satisfactory. To have the efficacy of immunization it is necessary to extend this method to the whole country.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
