Title: Reduction of gastric stress ulcers by intraduodenal infusion of liquids--observations in a rat model. Author: Putz FJ, Schwille PO, Draxler G, Engelhardt W. Journal: Res Exp Med (Berl); 1980; 177(2):167-71. PubMed ID: 7444171. Abstract: The number and severity of gastric stress ulcers (= ulcer index) in rats caused by the restraint technique can be reduced by instilling water, hydrochloric acid or Ringer solution intraduodenally during the stress period. This effect is not caused by lower gastric acid, lower blood gastrin and glucagon and most likely not by an improved gastric mucosal microcirculation.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
