Title: [Effect of papaverine on blood circulation in experiments on anesthetized and waking animals]. Author: Kryzhanovskiĭ SA. Journal: Farmakol Toksikol; 1980; 43(6):690-3. PubMed ID: 7450006. Abstract: Experiments on rats have shown that papaverine (1 mg/kg) produces hypotension, tachycardia, and increases myocardial contractility in animals under general anesthesia. In freely moving animals, it enhances cardiac contractile function to a considerably greater extent than in anesthetized animals, exerting no marked effect on arterial pressure or heart rate. It is suggested that different papaverine effect on animals under general anesthesia and on freely moving ones, is due to the influences exerted by narcotic substances on both central component of cardiovascular tone regulation and directly on the myocardium.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
