    Abstract:
The prompt and effective diagnosis, prophylaxis anad treatment of anaerobic infections are of great importance to traumatologists and orthopaedic surgeons. As mixed infections with aerobic and anaerobic organisms occur frequently, proper and effective diagnosis is essential. According to our findings, clindamycin phosphate is an effective substance for treatment of infections with non-spore-forming anaerobes, and in combination with aminoglycosides it is effective against mixed infections with gram-negative rods.
