    Abstract:
    On 44 liver biopsy specimens a trichromic staining for histochemical detection of HBsAg in cytoplasm of hepatocytes has been performed. In 34 subjects their sensitivity and availability has been compared with aldehyde-fuchsin Gomori's staining and IF. Trichromic staining is easy to perform, makes it possible simultaneous morphological diagnosis and is sufficiently sensitive for HBsAg detection especially in chronic hepatitis. It can be considered as elective method for a rapid diagnosis of HBV infection.
