Title: Traumatic bitemporal hemianopsia: case report. Author: Tibbs PA, Brooks WH. Journal: J Trauma; 1979 Feb; 19(2):129-31. PubMed ID: 762730. Abstract: Bitemporal hemianopsia due to trauma to the optic chiasm is uncommon following head injury. In the patient described, a hemianopic field defect was seen 12 days after frontal basilar skull fracture. We feel the cause is intrachiasmatic contusion, edema, and hemorrhage.
