Title: [Bendazac hepatotoxicity: analysis of 16 cases]. Author: Prieto de Paula JM, Rodríguez Rodríguez E, Villamandos Nicás V, Sanz de la Fuente H, Prada Mínguez A, del Portillo Rubí A. Journal: Rev Clin Esp; 1995 Jun; 195(6):387-9. PubMed ID: 7644786. Abstract: Hepatic lesions induced by non-steroid antiinflammatory drugs are a common cause of disease, particularly among elderly patients. Although its clinical expression is polymorphous, occasional increases in serum transaminase values predominate. Sixteen cases of liver involvement by bendazac were studied. This NSAID is used in Spain for the treatment of cataracts, from a total of 112 patients observing such therapy. The clinical spectrum of liver disease induced by bendazac is discussed and emphasis is placed on the necessity to judiciously select the indications for NSAIDs.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
