Title: [The participation of the brain dopamine receptors in the functional alteration of the hypothalamo-hypophyseal-adrenal cortex system in rat progeny that received alcohol with the maternal milk]. Author: Drzhevetskaia IA, Butova OA. Journal: Eksp Klin Farmakol; 1994; 57(5):40-3. PubMed ID: 7696905. Abstract: The rat experiments have shown that cerucal-induced blockade of dopamine receptors in the brain normalizes hypothalamo-hypophyseo-adrenocortical parameters in the early postnatal period in newborn rats alcoholized during lactation, as well as reduces the functional activity of the links in this system in the formation of sexual maturity and early puberty. It is suggested that dopamine might play a significant role in the mechanism of action of alcohol through its receptors on the rat offsprings' hypothalamo_hypophyseo-adrenocortical system.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
