  • Title: [Is reconstructive surgery the key to solving the problem of acute thrombi in the arteries of the extremities of atherosclerotic etiology?].

    Journal: Vestn Khir Im I I Grek; 1993; 150(1-2):32-5. PubMed ID: 7701696.
    Abstract:
Long-term results (up to 3 years) of reconstructive-restorative operations on 52 patients with acute thromboses of extremity arteries of atherosclerotic etiology are analyzed. Results of lumbar sympathectomy were followed in 17 patients who had lesions of the distal bed of the extremity preventing reconstructive-restorative operations. Results of operative measures at remote periods were not very comforting. The results can be improved by perfecting the dispensary observation of the patients, detection of latent forms of vascular insufficiency which can be treated conservatively as well as prophylactics and treatment of atherosclerosis.
