Title: [A sorbent-application method for treating burns]. Author: Slesarenko SV. Journal: Vestn Khir Im I I Grek; 1993; 150(1-2):46-8. PubMed ID: 7701701. Abstract: The possibility to reduce intoxication of organism in critical burn disease by using application sorbents of the "Dnieper" type was studied. It was found that in acute period of burn disease there occurs resorption of toxic products of middle molecular weight from the lesion focus and accumulation of them in blood resulting in polyvalent alterations of functions of the internal organs. The using of application sorption allows the degree of toxicosis to become 20% less, the course of the wound process and the disease to be improved and to make the time of treatment 55.5% shorter.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
