Abstract: After the observation of a case of splenic abscess the authors make a review of the literature. It is important to note that splenic abscesses are increasing in number because of some particular situations that can help their development. The diagnosis is not always easy and quick, because of the frequent lack of a typical symptomatology, and the later the diagnosis, the worse the prognosis.
