Abstract: Brain irradiation, although therapeutic in nature, has undesirable effects in a small number of patients. Radiation encephalopathy and radiation necrosis may occur as late responses. Radiation also may cause cognitive deficits, visual loss, and hypothalamic-pituitary suppression.
