Title: [A case of schwannoma of intrathoracic right phrenic nerve]. Author: Tanaka H, Iuchi K, Mori T, Tanaka Y, Ikeda M, Nanjou S. Journal: Nihon Kyobu Geka Gakkai Zasshi; 1995 Mar; 43(3):380-3. PubMed ID: 7769348. Abstract: An abnormal shadow was pointed out on the roentgenogram of a 41-year-old woman. CT scan revealed a tumor, 3 cm in diameter, at the right mediastinum. The tumor originated from a right phrenic nerve was removed surgically on May 20th, 1993. Histopathological examination revealed that the tumor was a schwannoma. Of 138 mediastinum tumors that we vesected in the last 10 years, 24 were neurogenic tumors (17%), and only one of which was originated from a phrenic nerve (4.1%).
