Title: Dopaminergic innervation of the brain in pigeons. The presumed 'prefrontal cortex'. Author: Divac I, Thibault J, Skageberg G, Palacios JM, Dietl MM. Journal: Acta Neurobiol Exp (Wars); 1994; 54(3):227-34. PubMed ID: 7817838. Abstract: In the postero-dorso-lateral neostriatum (PDLNS) of the pigeon we found a high density of tyrosine hydroxylase and perineuronal nests of fibres labelled with anti-dopamine antibody. These data confirm our earlier indirect evidence that PDLNS receives a dense dopaminergic innervation and therefore can be compared with the mammalian prefrontal cortex.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
