Title: [Xeroderma pigmentosum--case report]. Author: Mackiewicz E, Switka-Bachnik E, Dróbecka-Brydak E. Journal: Klin Oczna; 1994; 96(4-5):176-8. PubMed ID: 7990341. Abstract: The authors presented a case of a boy aged 16, in whom xeroderma pigmentosus was diagnosed 6 years earlier. The boy was referred to the clinic on account of a quickly growing tumor of conjunctiva and cornea of his right eye. During 2-year follow-up, in spite of two surgical excision, the tumor relapsed and finally enucleation of the eyeball was performed. Histopathological examination revealed melanoma malignum. The clinical aspects of prophylaxis, early diagnosis and treatment of xeroderma pigmentosum are discussed.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
