PubMed ID: 8029605. Abstract: Pseudomyxoma peritonei is a clinical entity characterized by gelatinous ascites. It is most often due to a mucinous cystadenocarcinoma of the appendix or ovary. These patients die frequently of bowel obstruction after multiple surgical procedures.
