Abstract: Lipoatrophic diabetes is characterized by: complete lack of subcutaneous fattissue (generalized lipodystrophy), insulin resistant diabetes mellitus, hepatosplenomegaly, excessive hyperthyroidism, elevated basal metabolic note without hyperthyroidism. Recently, "cystic" alterations in the bone have been described as a possible further characteristic.
