  • Title: Prevention of peptic ulceration in patients receiving NSAIDs.
    Author: Ballinger A.
Journal: Br J Hosp Med; ; 49(11):767-72. PubMed ID: 8101464.
    Abstract:
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are widely prescribed and a minority of patients taking them will develop peptic ulceration with the risk of haemorrhage, perforation and death. Recent studies have identified which anti-ulcer agents will prevent such ulceration. This article discusses the problem, how to prevent it and which patients should receive prophylactic treatment.
