Title: [A child is not a small adult (author's transl)]. Author: Betke K. Journal: MMW Munch Med Wochenschr; 1975 Oct 24; 117(43):1717-20. PubMed ID: 810702. Abstract: Any drug treatment must be examined separately for each age group. Physiological transitional situations such as the lowered hemoglobin value of the neonate or the knock knee and pes valgus of the infant must not be regarded as pathological, any more than nocturnal enuresis beyond the 4th year of life means emotional disturbance. Children are extraordinarily accommodating immunologically, physically and mentally. However, conclusions which appear logical from the adult point of view may lead to errors. Similar considerations hold true for the application of general theoretical perceptions of learning to infants.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
