Title: Diagnostic value of rapid detection of Chlamydia trachomatis by using amplified enzyme immunoassay in infants with respiratory infections. Author: Numazaki K, Chiba S. Journal: Diagn Microbiol Infect Dis; 1993 Oct; 17(3):233-4. PubMed ID: 8112033. Abstract: The diagnostic value of amplified enzyme immunoassay (IDEIA Chlamydia test) was compared with that of standard tissue culture in specimens obtained from pediatric patients. Of 286 clinical specimens, chlamydial antigen was detected in 34 by IDEIA Chlamydia. Chlamydia trachomatis was isolated from 30 specimens and C. pneumoniae from one specimen. IDEIA had excellent sensitivity and specificity relative to cell culture.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
