Title: Weight comparisons of infants with complete cleft lip and palate. Author: Richard ME. Journal: Pediatr Nurs; 1994; 20(2):191-6. PubMed ID: 8159506. Abstract: PURPOSE: To evaluate the success of the Enlarge, Stimulate, Swallow, Rest (ESSR) feeding method for infants with complete cleft lip and palate. METHOD: Sixty-nine infants comprised of two groups: an ESSR group and a control group. Paired t-tests compared mean weights at birth and time of surgery according to feeding method.
