  • Title: [The interaction of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems at the level of the medulla oblongata structures].
Author: Gabdrakhmanov RSh, Gordievskaia NA, Molchatskaia VF.
Journal: Fiziol Zh Im I M Sechenova; 1993 Nov; 79(11):44-51. PubMed ID: 8162105.
    Abstract:
The APs of the medulla structures in response to the aorta-vagal stimulation permitted to divide reticular, respiratory and cardiac-vascular "silent" neurons into three groups: those responding to the aorta stimulation, responding to the vagal stimulation, and convergent neurons responding to the aorta-vagal stimulation. The third group neurons seem to maintain an interaction between the respiration and the circulation systems.
