  • Title: [Correction of post-traumatic deformity after femoral intramedullary nailing].
    Author: Eingartner C, Volkmann R, Weller S.
Journal: Aktuelle Traumatol; 1994 Feb; 24(1):12-6. PubMed ID: 8165954.
    Abstract:
Posttraumatic deformities of the femoral shaft secondary to intramedullary nailing of femoral shaft fractures consist in rotation deformities, leg shortening or axis deformities, which are either single deformities or combined with each other. The most common deformity is external rotation with or without posttraumatic length discrepancies. 16 cases, in which corrective osteotomies have been performed in the years 1985 to 90 in the Berufsgenossenschaftliche Unfallklinik Tübingen are analyzed; indications, techniques and results are discussed.
