Title: [Long-term results of organ-preserving operation in chronic calculous cholecystitis]. Author: Kaluzhskikh VV. Journal: Khirurgiia (Mosk); 1994 Jan; (1):18-9; discussion 20. PubMed ID: 8176871. Abstract: Since 1976 forty-six patients with chronic calculous cholecystitis were subjected to an organ-preserving operation-cholecystocholedochostomy (Pribram's operation modified by G. L. Ratner). The late results were studied in 44 cases, they were found to be good in 30, satisfactory in 6, and poor in 8 patients. In analyzing the causes of recurrent calculogenesis in 8 patients it was concluded that the recurrence was promoted by small stones in and inflammation of the gallbladder, concomitant pancreatitis, and a distended choledochus. The operation for cholecystocholedochostomy in chronic calculous cholecystitis is indicated in mildly changed functioning gallbladder containing occasional large stones and in nondistended common bile duct.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
