Title: Purification and characterization of carbonic anhydrase from the bovine submandibular gland. Author: Pinheiro CE, Inaco BJ. Journal: Rev Bras Pesqui Med Biol; 1976; 9(2-3):97-106. PubMed ID: 820739. Abstract: In this paper the authors describe the purification and characterization of a single molecular form of carbonic anhydrase from the bovine submandibular gland. This enzyme has a high specific activity for the hydration of CO2, a molecular weight of 29,500 dalton and a isoelectric pH of 4.9. It is found in a high concentration in the bovine salivary glands. Its possible physiologic role in the secretion of saliva is discussed.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
