Abstract: Herpes laryngis is a rare inflammatory disease, caused by herpes simplex (HSV) or herpes zoster virus (HZV). Three cases of acute viral laryngitis are described. The first case of laryngitis is caused by HZV, with involvement of VII., VIII., IX. and X. cranial nerves. In the second and third cases, caused by HSV, only the laryngeal mucosa is involved.
