Author: Mpangala C, Uilenberg G, Schreuder BE.
Journal: Tropenmed Parasitol; 1976 Jun; 27(2):192-6. PubMed ID: 821189.
    Abstract:
Piroplasm antigen of Haematoxenus veliferus, prepared from cattle with a high parasitaemia, showed the presence of antibodies to this parasite in infected animals, using the indirect fluorescent antibody test. A positive titre may persist for at least 4 months, and marginal titres for at least 8 months. There was no cross-reaction in the IFA test with either T. parva or T. mutans.
