Abstract: The present study showed the effect of interleukin-1 beta (IL-1 beta) on liver/bone/kidney (L/B/K) alkaline phosphatase (ALP) mRNA level of the fibroblastic cells derived from human periodontal ligament (HPLF). The 5th to 10th passage of cultured HPLF were used. It was found that IL-1 beta significantly inhibited the gene expression of L/B/K ALP mRNA in the cells, and that the effect was dose-and incubation time-dependent. These results suggest that IL-1 beta may play a negative role in reparation of periodontium and periapical diseases.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
