Abstract: With reference to 935 rectoscopies carried out from October 1973 to December 1974, the importance of this endoscopic method for the diagnosis of all anorectal conditions is drawn to the attention. In almost 10% of the patients investigated we found a tumorous change. Passing of blood from the rectum is the most frequent (43%) indication for rectoscopy. 40% of the rectal carcinomata diagnosed by rectoscopy were palpable with the finger.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
