Title: [Pharmacogenic tardive dyskinesias and their management]. Author: Böszörményi Z. Journal: Psychiatr Neurol Med Psychol Beih; 1975; 20-21():95-9. PubMed ID: 829644. Abstract: The results can be related to three syndromes: the choreoathetotic, buccolingual and bucco-facio-mandibular. The author's results are compared with the most significant reviews in medical literature. With regard to the frequency in occurence of these retarded pharmacogenic dyskinesiae, incomparable and differing statements are found in separate authors. In the specific case-reports the quota of secondary or permanent dyskinesiae with chronic psychosics is less than 1/2%. However, the problem is gaining increasingly in importance, since more and more patients are being treated over a long period with neuroleptics.
